Continue reading “LLC 2020: Introduction to Applied Methods and Procedures for Underwater Surveying”A new raining course, entitled “Introduction to Applied Methods and Procedures for Underwater Surveying” is offered as a Lifelong Learning Course (LLC) by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
It was in 1992 when I went for the first time at Kalamitsi. During that period diving was allowed only to designated sites and I was lucky that Georg (originating from Austria) was operating a diving center at one of the more beautiful (and remote) places of Chalkidiki. The conditions were ideal for diving at the “Wreck” which was a main attraction for divers. It was a unique experience as, like a new diver by this time, I had not faced the spectacle of a sunken ship yet. This distinctive specialty course is the second part of the Specialization on Shipwreck Surveying. The knowledge development session has been completed in January 2016 and the confined water training has run during the first week of February.
The open water session follows towards the surveying and the 3d modeling for selected features of the shipwreck “M/S ΚΑΛΗ ΤΥΧΗ”.
